I am in two minds about Behind Closed Doors by B A Paris. On the one hand, I found the book to be a dramatic page-turner, and I enjoyed the chapters alternating between the past and present. On the other hand, I found the book to be a little too extreme for my liking.
The story revolves around the marriage of Grace and Jack, which looks perfect to the outside world but is, in fact, full of secrets and darkness. I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but my main dislike for the book was the focus of Jack’s obsession. I didn’t understand it and thought it was a little farfetched.
Although I believe the book has been over-hyped, it is well written and well-paced, making it an easy read. I would recommend this book to those who have enjoyed B A Paris’ other books. However, a trigger warning for this book is domestic abuse.
